The HSS is the new Highland dance shoe of award winning Scottish designer Craig Coussins.  

Made in the UK, the front of the shoe has a unique curved top line to the vamp to allow the shoe to bend into the toe without compressing the toe area. Using a special thinner outer sole and inner sole, you will feel the floor while still having  protection from impact from constant pressure on the ball of the foot. The toe is slightly rounder now, which allows the shoe to better stretch into the natural shape of the foot. The arch and heel fit like a glove, it is contoured to hug the foot and give firm support.

Like the HHR and HHC before, the HSS gives an excellent, comfortable arch, has a beautiful toe point and a lovely heel shape. Craig’s innovative lacing system has been designed to prevent arch or Achilles tendon damage

The entire shoe is hand made and Craig takes special care with the eyelets, stitching and materials for the Hullachan. The special padding can absorb a great deal of impact and is used in the orthopaedic industry. The leather is hand tooled and carefully chosen to work with your feet while not over stretching. The sole is glued with his specially commissioned adhesive for strength and the double stitched edges are there for your further security. This truly is a shoe for the 21st century.
